Scratch Coding Lesson 1 - How to run a program

Knowing how to run a program you create in Scratch is a basic skill you will need in order to learn how to code.

In this lesson you will learn how to run programs in Scratch.

You will open a Scratch program in the web browser on your computer or tablet.
The Lesson

You can run a Scratch program in one of two ways using the controls. We will explore one of those ways in this lesson.

Let’s get started.

On your computer or tablet, click HERE to open a simple Scratch program we created for this lesson.

Click on the blue See inside button shown in the top right of the above image.

This will take you inside the program in Scratch.

Once inside the program, look over to the right to see the stage with the controls as shown in the above image.

In the upper left corner of the stage there are buttons to run and stop the program.  The button to the upper right puts the program in full screen mode.  If you click it again it exits full screen mode.
